If you are looking for a spot to do your next family, maternity, or couples session, Vasquez Rocks is it! This cool location, used often in movies and shows (it was actually used in the filming of Star Trek), is located just outside of Los Angeles and has tons of open space for exploring and soaking in the golden desert sunshine. Sure, it can get a bit crowded on weekends, but if you pick a weekday, this spot is totally worth all of that.
Alicia’s vision for her session was to do part of it in a gorgeous belly-baring dress with lots of solo shots and then bring in her partner Taylor as well as her daughter Shae for family photos. On the day of the session, an insanely gorgeous winter day, we were able to do just that; then, after an outfit change, they all walked more of the location, exploring the nooks and crannies of the area while sharing lots of laughs. Alicia was glowing in both of her dresses, picking the perfect color scheme for this desert landscape. Shae took to being in front of the camera like a natural (I mean, they all did if we are being honest) and we got some great photos of her with her mom, Taylor, and even some cute solo shots.
These were some of my favorite photos from 2022 and considering I am shooting another session for Alicia and her family (and their baby boy!) this coming weekend, I figured it was high time I shared some of these awesome, fun, photos. So, enjoy this lovely little family’s session!
