Jordan and Blair’s adventure engagement session in Georgia was nothing short of amazing! We spent our time together adventuring around the Indian Seats area, taking in the views and watching the sun set before us. We hiked up to this location in April and ended up with the place to ourselves. Jordan and Blair are both fitness and hiking lovers, so it only felt right for their engagement session to be as adventurous as they are.
Couples will often preface their session with how “awkward” they feel in front of the camera, but as a seasoned photographer, it’s my job to make the session as comfortable as possible for you both. One of the biggest tips that I give to my couples is to trust the process. While the prompts that I introduce may feel silly in the moment, the outcome is always amazing. Being able to trust your photographer is crucial in creating images that don’t feel stiff, but instead feel genuine and unique to your relationship.
One of the most helpful things that I do for my couples before their engagement session is to send them a questionnaire that helps me get to know them better. Afterall, it can feel daunting and a bit overwhelming to meet someone for the first time and be expected to feel like yourself. That’s where the questionnaire comes into play. My engagement session questionnaire gives me a glimpse into your relationship by telling me your love languages, your hobbies, your favorite types if music, how you met, and so much more. Being able to know you a bit beforehand allows me the space that I need to capture your love as authentically as possible. For Jordan and Blair, I knew that going into their session that they are fresh home owners, they enjoy a mixture of fun and intimate poses, and they’re obsessed with their pup. This information gave me the tools that I needed to cater their engagement session to them specifically.

As you can see, we ended up with some amazing photos from Jordan and Blair’s adventure engagement session. Through their genuine emotion and the way they were playful with each other, I was able to capture some beautiful shots at sunset! Toward the end of their session, we even included their sweet pup, Ricky Martin, in some shots. Take it from me friends, an adventure engagement session at sunset with the love of your life and your pup in tow, is the perfect way to tell your story.
Please note: we did practice LNT principals. Animals are not allowed at Indian Seats, so we did photos with Ricky Martin next to the parking lot instead.
