Downtown Atlanta Vow Renewal

Elopement-Style Vow Renewal Overlooking Downtown Atlanta

Atlanta, GA + Urban Elopements

Atlanta has always been one of my favorite cities, especially downtown. Growing up, I loved driving past the skyline, lit up in the dark, as we made our way to my family’s cabin in northern Georgia. In general, Georgia is a place I hold dear to my heart and love being able to visit whenever possible. So when the opportunity came in April to spend some time on the east coast, I jumped at the chance to bring a vision to life that I had in mind for a while: a parking deck elopement. With the stunning Atlanta skyline, I knew it would be the perfect place to make this happen.

In putting together this creative vision, I knew I had to reach out to my friend Maddy over at Bambina Diaries, a blog dedicated to navigating parenthood. I met Maddy and Ricky years ago, back when I still lived in Miami. The two of them have been together for as long I can remember knowing them. They were married around the same time my husband and I were, which meant that, in my humble opinion, they were due for a little vow renewal! When I reached out and let them know what I had in mind, they were both stoked and thrilled at this fun little opportunity.

Once the location was set, florals planned, dress and suit ready, it was time to make some magic happen! We arrived a couple hours before sunset on the rooftop of the parking deck overlooking the gorgeous Atlanta skyline. They each finished dressing on either side of their car (lucky for everyone, the parking deck was empty) and then did a sweet first look. Afterwards, they renewed their vows and offered some new ones to each other while taking in the gorgeous setting sun. Once they shared a kiss, they popped a bottle of champagne and toasted to each other after having some fun spraying it everywhere.

As the sun set lower in the sky, we explored the parking deck and made sure to take advantage of that golden light for some dreamy portraits. After a little while, we all were starved and decided to go grab some food at Ponce City Market. Once the sun had disappeared, I took out my flash for some fun shots before we ended the evening, taking in the twinkle lights and neon above us. It was the perfect way to end the night and I couldn’t be happier with being able to bring this vision to life and doing it with such an awesome, fun couple!
